For the Reducing Environmental Footprint Technology Competition, projects were assessed on their ability to demonstrate a clear pathway to commercialization and to provide significant environmental benefits that contribute to the target of 100 megatonnes of CO2e reduction by 2033.

Working with Trent University’s chemistry department, Carbonix has developed a proprietary process that can convert large amounts of petroleum coke and boiler char – previously considered waste byproducts – into activated carbon.

Working with Trent University’s chemistry department, Carbonix has developed a patent-pending process that can convert large amounts of petroleum coke and boiler char – previously considered waste byproducts – into advanced nano products that enable operators to achieve their fluid tailings reclamation and GHG reduction targets.
