In our “People of the Portal” series, we highlight innovative and entrepreneurial members of the Cleantech Commons Cleantech Innovation Portal and celebrate the outstanding achievements of Portal members.
This week, we are delighted to let you know that a Cleantech Commons Cleantech Innovation Portal client, Mitrex, has been named “exclusive supplier of solar cladding for geoLAGOON.” Mitrex will be the exclusive building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) supplier for the innovative geoLAGOON project.
Inspired by the famous Blue Lagoon in Iceland, the innovative geoLAGOON project aims to demonstrate the infinite supply of energy from the sun and the Earth.
The exterior walls and roof of each house will incorporate BIPV and provide electricity for the village without compromising the buildings’ aesthetics.
“Our high-performing solar cladding technology will not only provide the electricity needed to heat the lagoon and tank, but it will also enhance the visual appeal of the buildings,” says Mitrex CEO Danial Hadizadeh. “The project is a testament to how renewable energy can be a practical and financially viable option for the energy transition, and we at Mitrex are excited to be a part of it.”
